LayerZero X AngelBlock: Enabling AB cross-chain raises
As many of you already know, for the better part of the last six months, we have been working on implementing cross-chain fundraising on AngelBlock.
Since November, it has become possible, and we now are capable of hosting fundraisers on more than 30+ chains, all thanks to our integration with LayerZero.
A testament to this achievement was our first cross-chain fundraise, which took place in December with Script Network. Script Network investors through AngelBlock could invest USDT on Ethereum and will be able to receive their tokens on the BSC chain once token claiming for AngelBlock investors begins. Now, after completing our initial implementation and conducting our first cross-chain fundraise, it’s time to discuss our decision to choose LayerZero as our cross-chain fundraising solution and what it means for us.
Enabling Cross-Chain Fundraises
In our search for a suitable solution to host cross-chain raises, we evaluated several options, including Axelar and Wormhole. The critical factors for us were the speed of message transfer and reliability. LayerZero emerged as the best choice in both respects, and its wide support for EVM-compatible chains was a significant factor in our decision to work with them.
While implementing cross-chain functionality, we maintained close contact with the LayerZero team. Their team was very responsive and helpful, assisting us in troubleshooting most issues we encountered. Thanks to the great work of both teams on our LayerZero integration, we have expanded our fundraising abilities for startups with tokens on EVM-compatible chains. Our initial implementation allows fundraising on Ethereum, while startup token unlocks can occur on any of the integrated chains. Using LayerZero, we will also enable cross-chain fundraisers in the future. This means, for example, hosting a raise on Polygon and having the token claiming on Arbitrum if the team’s tokens are available there.
It’s important to note that we are looking to further expand our LayerZero integration to non-EVM chains, allowing for fundraises to occur there as well. That siad, we couldn’t be happier with our integration so far, and with our Aleph Zero Bridge implementation just around the corner (based on LayerZero architecture), we will further expand our fundraising capabilities.
